AKRON — Metro Parks, Serving Summit County learned Feb. 13 it received 55 out of 69 points and “Platinum” Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for its ranger/ resource management building, which was completed in mid-2008.
“We don’t have the first ‘Platinum’ building in Ohio, but we have the greenest,” said Dave Whited, the park district’s chief of planning and development. “And we’re the first to receive ‘Platinum’ in Northeast Ohio.”
Wkyc's Eric Mansfield covers the story here.
